Instrumental Pedagogy – Piano

Educational-Qualification Degree – Master after Bachelor's Degree

 

Period of study: 2 academic years, full time.

A total of 60 credits per academic year is required to receive a Master's degree. They are accumulated from the compulsory (70%), elective (20%) and optional (10%) subjects.

 

Courses of study:

Compulsory: Methods of piano teaching; Praxis in piano  teaching; Piano – academic major; Chamber music; Pedagogy;

Elective: History of the instrument, History of art; Study of musical instruments, Music psychology; Educational psychology; Philosophy of music; Musical management; Musical aesthetics; Composition; Organ; Harpsichord; Music Therapy; Choir workshop; Choral studies; History of Bulgarian music; Approaches and work on a research project;

Optional:

Professional qualifications and career opportunities:

- Professional qualification – Instrumental pedagogue;

- Teaching the subject at music schools, education institutes and cultural centers;

- Work in the organization and management of the of music educational sphere.

- To train students in piano and chamber music at higher education institutions, children's music schools, secondary vocational schools, secondary schools of music, etc.;

- To do research work in the field of instrumental and performing arts;

- To lead various amateur and professional instrumental formations;

- To carry out all activities requiring higher musical education.
