Prof. Angel Makedonski, Ph. D

graduated from the National Academy of Music in 1970 under Prof. Petar Karparov. In 1978 he specialized with Prof. W. Yunek and later took part in the master courses of Prof. Edward Tar and Prof. Wazlaw Yunek within the framework of the Varna Summer Festival.

In 1974 he won the first award and the laureate title at the All-Bulgarian Contest for Singers and Instrumentalists.

Academic titles: Professor, Ph. D.

Positions held: Deputy Dean of the Instrumental Faculty at the National Academy of Music (2000-2004).

Creative career: Prof. Makedonski’s overall career features the first-time concert performances of works by both Bulgarian and international composers. His studio recordings of over 20 new compositions has been one of his main objectives. Many of his students work in leading orchestras and are winners of national competitions and contests.

Publications: A Manual for Brass Wind Instruments, An ABC-book for Trumpet-Players, Orchestral Difficulties, A Collection of Studies for Trumpet.
